Sept 22nd Workshop Cancelled

Sorry everyone. The meeting date and workshop for Sept. 22, 2012 has been cancelled. The workshop will be rescheduled for early Nov. with a new date to be announced soon. It will again be on a Saturday

September's meeting will then be on the regular meeting time of Wednesday, Sept. 26th at 7pm, at the Library.

Program and Workshop subjects with Sarah Anderson in April have just been finalized and the info follows below.  March meeting info will be published in about a week.  Treadles to Threads and Spindles and Flyers have joined together to present four class opportunities with Sarah. Two mini classes will be offered as Guild Programs - one at each Guild. And, two workshops - one held in Walnut Creek and one held in San Francisco. Sarah Anderson has published the book, "the Spinner's Book of Yarn Designs" shown to the left. She is very accomplished in her craft of spinning and you may have watched her videos on YouTube. We are fortunate that she will be down here for CNCH at Asilomar and is going to stay a bit longer to visit with both of our guilds. Our next meeting is a day early due to a library conflict, so be sure to mark the correct date, a Tuesday night, on your calendar. Mary Finley with their beautiful fibers! PROGRAM:  Mary Finley and Roger Salter of Dreamy Goat Design Studio Mary and Roger will spend the evening with us talking about how they make all their wonderful batts of wool for spinners. Concentrating on natural dyes, they create lovely colors and mixtures of fiber that most of us simply cannot resist. You will enjoy Mary's knowledge of spinning, weaving, dying, etc. and Roger always has a few stories to tell. Come and be inspired. This is the night your "Dreamy Goat Projects" are due. Bring what you've made and show it off, both to the Guild and to Mary and Roger. If you only got as far as making a skein, bring that too. "Creative Results From Our Fiber Exchange" Remember all the fibers from everyone's stash at the August meeting? This meeting is when your finished product is hopefully going to be finished. Lets see what you came up with from someone else's stash of fiber. Most of this meeting will be devoted to sharing, so even if you only have the yarn so far, bring it for show & tell, along with whatever else you've been working on. SPIKE hard at work , overseeing what Mary is knitting, as per usual. He was particularly entranced with the knit, beaded fish that was being created here.
